Charitable Contributions November 28, 2007

This is the time of the year when people tend to give monetary gifts to charities. People will call, not for profits will advertise and I bet you can even attend a few dinners or events in good heart to fundraise. I recently decided that I really want a charity that I can give to consistently. It is important to use our monetary gifts. If you’re looking like I am, I found a great website, Charity Navigator.

What I really like about this site is it’s there to let you research and make clear charities that may not be using God’s money for others, but for self. We know that money is not ours. What we are blessed to receive, we are even more blessed to give.

Always remember that even if it is the monetary giving season, that is the least we can do for someone. Money is nice, but it’s pretty cold and hollow. There’s really no point in helping someone pay for their electric bill if the light is going to illuminate an empty living room. Don’t forget to fill that living room with your presence as well as light. Visit long, work hard, smile often.
